Slow cooker chicken is a simple, hands-off dish where chicken cooks slowly over several hours until it becomes soft, juicy, and easy to shred.


🍗🥘 Slow Cooker Chicken (Easy Version)

🧾 Ingredients

  • Chicken (breasts or thighs)
  • Onion (sliced)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Paprika or chili powder (optional)
  • ½ cup water or broth
  • Optional: carrots, potatoes, herbs, BBQ sauce

🍳 How to make it

  1. Add onion and garlic to the slow cooker.
  2. Place chicken on top and season well.
  3. Add a small amount of water or broth.
  4. Cook:
    • Low heat: 6–8 hours
    • High heat: 3–4 hours
  5. Check—chicken should be tender and easy to shred.
  6. Serve whole or shred and mix into sauces.

🔥 Tips

  • Use thighs for juicier results
  • Don’t overfill with liquid (chicken releases juices)
  • Add vegetables later if you want them firm
  • For extra flavor, brown chicken before slow cooking
