Posted on February 23, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple air fryer chicken recipe using Zatarain’s Chicken Air Fryer Seasoned Coating (seasoned coating mix) — perfect for crispy, flavorful chicken with a Creole kick! (McCormick)

🍗 Air Fryer Chicken with Zatarain’s Seasoned Coating

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (about 450 g) chicken pieces
(boneless chicken breasts, tenders or bone‑in legs/thighs)
  • 1 egg
  • About 1/2 cup (or enough) Zatarain’s Chicken Air Fryer Seasoned Coating Mix
    (for coating)
  • Optional: oil spray for extra crispiness
(air fryer not strictly require oil) (McCormick)

Steps

  1. Prep the Coating
Pour the seasoned coating mix into a shallow dish or a large resealable plastic bag. (McCormick)
  2. Egg Wash
Beat the egg in a separate shallow bowl. (McCormick)
  3. Coat the Chicken
    • Dip each chicken piece into the beaten egg to moisten.
    • Then dip or shake the chicken in the coating mix, pressing gently so the mix sticks evenly.
    • Shake off any excess. (McCormick)
  4. Air Fry
    • Place the coated chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
    • Boneless pieces: air fry at 350 °F (175 °C) for about 15 min until cooked through.
    • Tenders: about 10‑12 min.
    • Bone‑in pieces: about 20‑25 min.
(Cooking times may vary slightly by air fryer model — check that the chicken reaches an internal temp of 165 °F/74 °C.) (McCormick)
  5. Serve Immediately
Enjoy hot with your favorite sides like rice, salad, or fries! (McCormick)

🥣 Optional Dipping Sauce: Creole Honey Mustard

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) Creole mustard
  • 2 Tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Chill until ready to serve. (McCormick)

🍽️ Oven Version

If you don’t have an air fryer:

  • Preheat oven to 425 °F (220 °C).
  • Coat chicken as above.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake until cooked through (times similar to air fryer but check doneness). (McCormick)
