Stuffed salmon with crab meat and shrimp over rice

🦀🍤🐟 Stuffed Salmon with Crab Meat and Shrimp over Rice is a rich seafood dish where salmon fillets are filled with a creamy crab–shrimp stuffing and served on fluffy rice. It looks impressive but is quite doable at home.


🧾 Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 2–4 salmon fillets (thick, skin-on or skinless)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Crab & Shrimp Stuffing

  • ½ cup lump crab meat
  • ½ cup small shrimp, peeled, cooked, and chopped
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp Old Bay or seafood seasoning
  • 1 tbsp parsley (optional)

For the Rice

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Pinch of salt

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the Rice

  1. Bring water or broth to a boil.
  2. Add rice, salt, and butter.
  3. Cover and simmer 15–18 minutes until fluffy. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Stuffing

In a bowl combine:

  • Crab meat
  • Chopped shrimp
  • Cream cheese
  • Mayonnaise
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Green onions
  • Lemon juice
  • Seafood seasoning

Mix gently so the crab stays chunky.


3. Prepare the Salmon

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut a pocket into the side of each salmon fillet.
  3. Season salmon with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and lemon juice.

4. Stuff the Salmon

  • Fill each pocket generously with the crab and shrimp mixture.
  • Place the fillets in a lightly oiled baking dish.

5. Bake

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, until salmon flakes easily and stuffing is hot.

Optional: Broil 2 minutes at the end for a golden top.


🍽️ Serving

  1. Spoon warm rice onto plates.
  2. Place the stuffed salmon on top.
  3. Garnish with:
    • Lemon wedges 🍋
    • Fresh parsley
    • Light drizzle of garlic butter.

Make a quick sauce by mixing melted butter + lemon juice + garlic + a little cream and drizzle it over the salmon and rice.
