Posted on April 1, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a complete one-plate dinner recipe for Steak Bites with Cheesy Broccoli and Mashed Potatoes—quick, hearty, and full of flavor.

Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

Steak Bites

  • 1 lb (450 g) sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Cheesy Broccoli

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2–3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup milk (or cream for richer texture)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Mashed Potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15–20 minutes.
  2. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. Keep warm.

2. Cheesy Broccoli

  1. Steam or boil broccoli for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  2. Drain, then toss with butter and shredded cheddar until melted. Season with salt and pepper.

3. Steak Bites

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add steak cubes in a single layer (do not overcrowd). Sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to desired doneness.
  3. Add garlic during the last minute of cooking and stir briefly. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

4. Plate & Serve

  • Serve steak bites alongside cheesy broccoli and mashed potatoes.
  • Optional: drizzle pan juices over steak bites for extra flavor.

Tips

  • Make it extra rich: Add cream or sour cream to mashed potatoes.
  • Cheese variations: Use Gruyère, mozzarella, or a cheddar-jack mix for broccoli.
  • Meal prep: Cook potatoes and broccoli in advance; just reheat while searing steak.

If you want, I can also give a one-pan version that cooks steak, broccoli, and mashed potatoes simultaneously, saving time and cleanup. It’s perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.

Do you want me to do that?
