Here’s a simple, hearty classic: steak and potatoes—crispy potatoes with juicy pan-seared steak, all in one satisfying meal.

🥩🥔 Steak and Potatoes (One-Pan Style)

🧾 Ingredients

  • Beef steak (ribeye, sirloin, or striploin) – 2 pieces
  • Potatoes – 3–4 medium, cut into cubes or wedges
  • onion – 1 medium, sliced (optional)
  • Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • Butter – 2–3 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – 1 tsp
  • Paprika or chili flakes – ½ tsp (optional)
  • Rosemary or thyme – 1 tsp (optional)

👨‍🍳 Cooking Steps

1. Cook the potatoes first

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add potatoes + salt
  • Cook on medium heat until golden and crispy (10–15 minutes)
  • Remove and set aside

2. Sear the steak

  • Pat steak dry and season with salt + pepper
  • Heat pan until very hot
  • Sear steak 2–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness)
  • Remove and let it rest

3. Make garlic butter base

  • In same pan, lower heat
  • Add butter + garlic
  • Add onions (if using) and cook until soft

4. Combine

  • Add potatoes back into pan
  • Toss in garlic butter
  • Slice steak and place on top or mix gently

5. Finish

  • Sprinkle herbs (rosemary/thyme)
  • Adjust seasoning
  • Serve hot

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • With salad or sautéed vegetables
  • Add fried egg on top for breakfast-style version
  • Serve with sauce (pepper sauce or garlic mayo)

🔥 Tips for best results

  • Dry steak well for a better crust
  • Don’t overcrowd potatoes—let them crisp properly
