Roasted sweet potatoes

Here are perfectly roasted sweet potatoes — crispy edges, soft centres, and full of flavour 🍠

Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Time: ~35–45 minutes
Oven: 220°C / 425°F

Ingredients

  • 2–3 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 220°C / 425°F.
  2. Peel (optional) and cut sweet potatoes into even cubes or wedges.
  3. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread in a single layer on a lined tray (don’t overcrowd).
  5. Roast 20 minutes, flip, then roast another 15–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
  6. Finish with a pinch of sea salt.

🔥 Smoky & Savoury

  • Smoked paprika + garlic powder

🌶 Spicy

  • Chili flakes or cayenne

🍯 Sweet & Caramelised

  • Add 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup in last 10 minutes

🌿 Herb & Garlic

  • Fresh rosemary or thyme + crushed garlic

🧀 Loaded

  • Sprinkle with feta or parmesan after roasting

Tips for Extra Crispiness

  • Cut evenly
  • Use high heat
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan
  • Roast on the top rack

Serve With

  • Roast chicken or salmon
  • Grain bowls or salads
  • Tacos or wraps
