Here’s a classic pound cake recipe—simple, rich, and buttery (the name comes from the original formula using a pound each of butter, sugar, eggs, and flour).


🧈 Classic Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225 g) butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking powder (optional, for a lighter texture)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 170–180°C (340–350°F). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the batter.
  7. Pour into the pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool before slicing.
