🥟 Frozen Pierogies in a Slow Cooker

Pierogi are dumplings traditionally from Poland, often filled with potatoes, cheese, meat, or sauerkraut. Cooking frozen pierogies in a slow cooker is an easy way to make a warm, creamy comfort meal.

🥘 Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen pierogies
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and black pepper

Optional: sliced smoked sausage or bacon.

👨‍🍳 How to Cook Them

  1. Layer the ingredients
Place frozen pierogies in the slow cooker. Add sliced onions and optional sausage.
  2. Add liquids
Pour chicken broth over the pierogies.
  3. Cook slowly
    • Low: 4–5 hours
    • High: 2–3 hours
  4. Add creamy topping
About 30 minutes before serving, add sour cream, butter, and shredded cheese.
  5. Stir and serve
Mix gently until the cheese melts and everything is creamy.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Top with extra sour cream
  • Sprinkle with green onions
  • Serve with a side salad or vegetables

💡 Tip: For extra flavor, sauté the onions in butter before adding them to the slow cooker.
