Drop biscuits

Here’s a super easy drop biscuits recipe—no rolling or cutting needed, just mix and drop onto a tray 🧈


🧈 Drop Biscuits (Soft & Fluffy)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • ½ cup (115 g) cold butter (cubed)
  • ¾–1 cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven
    200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in butter
    Add cold butter and rub it into the flour with your fingers until crumbly.
  4. Add milk
    Pour in milk gradually and mix just until a soft dough forms (don’t overmix).
  5. Drop onto tray
    Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto the tray (rustic shapes are perfect).
  6. Bake
    Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden on top.

✨ Tips:

  • Keep butter cold—this makes biscuits flaky.
  • Don’t overmix or they’ll turn dense.
  • Brush tops with butter for extra flavor.

🧀 Variations:

  • Cheese biscuits: Add shredded cheddar or Parmesan.
  • Garlic biscuits: Mix in garlic powder and herbs.
  • Sweet biscuits: Add a little extra sugar and serve with jam.

Perfect with tea, soups, or as a quick bread on the side 😄
