Here’s a fun, crunchy, Tex-Mex style dish: Doritos Locos Taco Pasta Salad—a mix of pasta, taco flavors, and crushed chips for a bold, addictive salad.

🧾 Ingredients

  • Pasta (shells, rotini, or elbow) – 250 g
  • ground beef – 300 g
  • onion – 1 small, finely chopped
  • Lettuce – 1–2 cups, shredded
  • Tomato – 1 large, diced
  • Cheddar cheese – 1 cup, shredded
  • Sour cream or mayonnaise – ½ cup
  • Taco seasoning – 1–2 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Water – 2–3 tbsp (for sauce adjustment)
  • Doritos (Nacho Cheese flavor or similar) – 1–2 cups, crushed

👨‍🍳 Steps

1. Cook pasta

  • Boil pasta until al dente
  • Drain and cool completely

2. Cook taco beef

  • Heat oil in pan
  • Sauté onions until soft
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned
  • Mix in taco seasoning + a splash of water
  • Cook until slightly saucy and set aside

3. Make dressing

  • Mix sour cream or mayo with a pinch of taco seasoning
  • Add a little water if needed for creaminess

4. Combine salad

In a large bowl mix:

  • Pasta
  • Cooked beef
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Cheese
  • Dressing

5. Add crunch (important!)

  • Just before serving, fold in crushed Doritos
  • Don’t mix too early or they’ll go soggy
