Cinnamon roll

Posted on March 28, 2026 by Admin

Cinnamon rolls are sweet, soft, and gooey pastries swirled with cinnamon sugar and often topped with a glaze or cream cheese frosting. They’re the ultimate comfort food for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

🍥 What They Are

  • Yeast-leavened dough: Soft, fluffy, slightly sweet
  • Filling: Butter, sugar, and cinnamon
  • Topping: Glaze, icing, or cream cheese frosting
  • Can be baked in a pan as rolls or cut individually

🍳 Basic Cinnamon Roll Recipe

Ingredients (Makes 8–12 rolls)

Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • ¾ cup warm milk (~40°C / 105°F)
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg

Filling:

  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Icing (optional):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or cream

Steps

  1. Prepare dough
    • Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
    • Add warm milk, butter, and egg → knead 8–10 min until smooth.
    • Cover and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
  2. Roll and fill
    • Roll dough into a rectangle ~12×8 inches.
    • Spread softened butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  3. Shape rolls
    • Roll dough tightly from one long edge → log shape.
    • Cut into 8–12 slices, place in a greased baking pan.
  4. Second rise
    • Cover and let rise 30–45 min until puffy.
  5. Bake
    • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Bake 20–25 min until golden brown.
  6. Ice and serve
    • Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.

🔥 Tips

  • Don’t over-bake → keeps rolls soft
  • Glaze while warm → melts into the swirls
  • Optional add-ins: Nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Serve warm with coffee or tea
  • Perfect for brunch or holiday breakfasts
  • Can be reheated for a quick sweet snack

I can also give a super-fluffy, restaurant-style cinnamon roll recipe with cream cheese frosting that’s melt-in-your-mouth soft.

Do you want me to do that?
