Chow mein

Here’s a tasty, street-style chow mein you can make at home—quick, savory, and full of flavor 🍜

🍜 Chicken Chow Mein (or Veg)

Ingredients:

  • 200–250 g noodles (egg noodles or spaghetti)
  • 1 cup chicken (thin strips) or mixed vegetables
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 1 cup cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 carrot (julienned)
  • ½ capsicum/bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil noodles
Cook in salted water until just done. Drain and toss with a little oil.
  2. Cook chicken (if using)
Heat oil, cook chicken until done, then remove.
  3. Stir-fry veggies
In the same pan, add garlic and onion. Stir-fry briefly.
Add cabbage, carrot, and capsicum—cook on high heat.
  4. Combine everything
Add noodles and chicken back to the pan.
  5. Add sauces
Pour soy sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Toss well on high heat for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot 🍜

🔥 Tips:

  • Cook on high flame for authentic taste.
  • Don’t overcook veggies—keep them slightly crunchy.
  • Add a dash of oyster sauce for extra flavor (optional).
  • For spicy chow mein, increase chili sauce or add green chilies.

If you want, I can give you a Desi street-style chow mein like roadside stalls or a restaurant-style saucy version 😄
