🥬🥣 Cabbage Soup (Simple & Comforting)

Cabbage soup is a light, hearty vegetable soup made with basic ingredients. It’s warm, filling, and easy to cook in one pot.


🧾 Ingredients

  • 4 cups cabbage (chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 carrots (sliced)
  • 2 tomatoes (chopped or 1/2 cup tomato puree)
  • 2–3 garlic cloves (optional)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 4 cups water or stock
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)

🥣 Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pot over medium heat
  2. Sauté onion and garlic until soft
  3. Add carrots and cook 3–4 minutes
  4. Add tomatoes and cook until slightly soft
  5. Pour in water or stock and bring to a boil
  6. Add cabbage and simmer 10–15 minutes
  7. Season with salt and pepper

🌿 Optional Additions

  • Chili flakes or green chili (spicy version)
  • Ginger (extra warmth and flavor)
  • Lemon juice (fresh finish)
  • Chicken, lentils, or beans (more filling)

💡 Tips

  • Don’t overcook cabbage—it should stay slightly firm
  • Let it simmer longer for a richer taste
