Soft Homemade Bread Rolls
Ingredients
- 3½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F / warm, not hot)
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Activate yeast
Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy. - Make the dough
Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir in flour gradually until a soft dough forms. - Knead
Knead 8–10 minutes by hand (or 5 minutes with a mixer) until smooth and elastic. - First rise
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1½ hours until doubled. - Shape rolls
Punch down dough. Divide into 12–15 balls and place in a greased baking dish. - Second rise
Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes until puffy. - Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown. - Finish
Brush tops with melted butter while warm.
