Here’s a rich, tender beef tips recipe with a proper gravy—this is the classic comfort-food version 🥩


🥩 Beef Tips in Brown Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 500 g beef (chuck or stew meat, cubed)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  1. Sear the beef
    Heat oil in a pan and brown the beef on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. Cook onions & garlic
    In the same pan, sauté onion until soft, then add garlic.
  3. Make the base
    Sprinkle in flour and cook for 1 minute (this helps thicken the gravy).
  4. Add liquid
    Pour in beef broth slowly while stirring. Add soy sauce, Worcestershire, and spices.
  5. Simmer
    Add beef back in. Cover and cook on low for 45–60 minutes until tender.
  6. Finish
    Stir in butter for richness. Adjust salt and pepper.

🍽️ Serve with:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Rice
  • Naan or roti

🔥 Tips:

  • Slow cooking = very tender beef (you can cook up to 1.5 hours).
  • Add mushrooms for a deeper flavor.
  • Pressure cooker: cook for ~20 minutes for faster results.
