Air fryer potatoes

Posted on January 16, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious way to make Air Fryer Potatoes—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) potatoes (Yukon Gold, Russet, or red potatoes)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme, or parsley

Instructions

  1. Prep the potatoes:
    • Wash and peel if desired (you can leave the skin on for extra texture).
    • Cut potatoes into even-sized cubes or wedges (about 1-inch pieces).
  2. Season the potatoes:
    • In a bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Cook the potatoes:
    • Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
    • Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping.
    • Check for doneness; potatoes should be golden brown and crispy outside, tender inside.
  5. Serve:
    • Sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired.
    • Serve hot as a side or snack—perfect with ketchup, aioli, or sour cream.

💡 Tips:

  • Cut potatoes evenly for uniform cooking.
  • For extra crispiness, soak potato cubes in cold water for 20–30 minutes, then dry thoroughly before air frying.
  • You can also try seasoning variations: Cajun, Italian herbs, or parmesan-garlic.

If you want, I can also give a super-crispy “double-cooked” method for air fryer potatoes that rival French fries.

Do you want me to do that?
