🛒 Ingredients (Serves 1–2)

  • 1 bone-in or boneless pork chop (1–1.5 inches thick)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: garlic, fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary), lemon

🥣 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Pork Chop

  • Pat the pork chop dry with a paper towel.
  • Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

2️⃣ Heat the Pan

  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.

3️⃣ Sear the Pork Chop

  • Place pork chop in hot pan.
  • Sear 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Optional: add smashed garlic and herbs to the pan for extra flavor; baste with butter.

4️⃣ Cook Through

  • For a 1-inch thick chop, reduce heat to medium and cook 4–6 more minutes, flipping once, until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Let rest 3–5 minutes before serving.

🔥 Tips & Variations

  • Juicy Chops: Use bone-in; don’t overcook.
  • Marinade Option: Marinate in olive oil, garlic, and herbs for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Pan Sauce: After cooking, deglaze the pan with a splash of chicken broth, wine, or cream for a quick sauce.
  • Grill Option: Grill over medium-high heat, 4–5 minutes per side, for smoky flavor.
