Popcorn Chicken

Posted on February 17, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Popcorn Chicken recipe—crispy, bite-sized chicken that’s perfect for snacking or a meal:

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) chicken breast or thigh, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional, for color/flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1–2 cups breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken
    • Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and pat dry.
  2. Set up breading stations
    • Bowl 1: flour mixed with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
    • Bowl 2: beaten eggs.
    • Bowl 3: breadcrumbs.
  3. Bread the chicken
    • Dredge chicken pieces in flour, then dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
    • For extra crunch, repeat egg and breadcrumb step (double coating).
  4. Fry the chicken
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry chicken in batches for 3–5 minutes, until golden brown and fully cooked inside.
    • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with dipping sauces like ketchup, honey mustard, or ranch.

💡 Tips

  • Panko breadcrumbs give a crunchier texture than regular breadcrumbs.
  • For a healthier version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • You can season the flour and breadcrumbs with cayenne, paprika, or parmesan for more flavor.

If you want, I can also give a quick air fryer Popcorn Chicken recipe that’s super crispy and ready in about 15 minutes.

Do you want me to give that version?
