Here’s a flavorful, tender roasted or braised Turkey Wings recipe — perfect for a hearty meal 🍗

Braised or Oven-Roasted Turkey Wings

Serves: 3–4
Time: 1.5–2 hours

Ingredients

  • 2–4 turkey wings (about 1–1.5 kg / 2–3 lbs total)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1–2 cups chicken or turkey stock
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Optional: ½ cup white wine or beer for extra flavor
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley

Instructions

Oven-Roasted Version

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.
  2. Season turkey wings with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a large ovenproof pan or Dutch oven over medium heat. Brown wings 4–5 minutes per side. Remove wings.
  4. Sauté onion, garlic, carrots, and celery until softened.
  5. Add stock, wine (if using), thyme, and bay leaf. Return wings to the pan.
  6. Cover with foil or a lid and bake 1.5–2 hours, basting occasionally, until wings are tender and meat pulls easily from the bone.

Stovetop / Braised Version

  1. Brown wings in a large pot with oil.
  2. Add vegetables, stock, herbs, and optional wine.
  3. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook 1.5–2 hours on low heat until tender.

Serving Suggestions

  • With mashed potatoes or roasted sweet potatoes
  • Over rice or quinoa
  • With sautéed greens or a simple salad

Tips & Variations

  • Extra crispy skin: Remove foil for last 15–20 minutes of roasting.
  • Flavor boost: Add smoked paprika, chili flakes, or garlic powder to seasoning.
  • Slow-cooker option: Brown wings, then place in slow cooker with vegetables and stock, cook LOW 6–8 hours or HIGH 3–4 hours.

I can also give you a sweet-and-spicy glazed turkey wings version, smoky BBQ wings, or a Cajun-style slow-cooker version next.
