Rib steak

Here’s a simple, flavorful way to cook a rib steak—juicy, tender, and full of beefy flavor:

🥩 Perfect Rib Steak

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 1–2 rib steaks (about 1–1.5 inches thick)
  • 1–2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2–3 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • Optional: fresh rosemary or thyme

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Bring to room temperature
    • Take rib steak out of the fridge 30–45 minutes before cooking. Pat dry.
  2. Season
    • Rub both sides with salt and black pepper. Optionally, add crushed garlic and herbs.
  3. Pan-sear or grill
    • Pan-sear: Heat olive oil or butter in a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
      • Sear steak 3–5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time for thickness and doneness).
      • Spoon melted butter and garlic over the steak while cooking.
    • Grill: Preheat grill to high. Grill steak 4–6 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  4. Rest
    • Remove steak, cover loosely with foil, and rest 5–10 minutes to let juices redistribute.
  5. Serve
    • Slice against the grain and serve with your choice of sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

🔥 Tips:

  • Check doneness: Use a meat thermometer:
    • Rare: 50°C (122°F)
    • Medium-rare: 55°C (130°F)
    • Medium: 60°C (140°F)
    • Well done: 70°C (160°F)
  • Extra flavor: Marinate with olive oil, garlic, and herbs for 1–2 hours before cooking.
  • Resting is key: Never skip resting; it keeps the steak juicy.

I can also give you a Crockpot rib steak version or a garlic butter oven-baked rib steak that’s extra tender and flavorful.

Do you want me to share one of those versions?
