Here’s a simple, flavorful recipe for Garlic Mushrooms — buttery, savory, and perfect as a side dish or steak topping.

🍄 Garlic Mushrooms

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450g) mushrooms (button or cremini), cleaned and halved
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp white wine or lemon juice

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Heat the Pan

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2️⃣ Cook Mushrooms

  • Add mushrooms in a single layer.
  • Let them cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes to develop a golden sear.
  • Stir and continue cooking another 4–5 minutes until tender and browned.

3️⃣ Add Garlic

  • Reduce heat to medium.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it burn).

4️⃣ Season & Finish

  • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  • Optional: splash in white wine or lemon juice and cook 1–2 minutes until slightly reduced.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Garnish with fresh parsley.
  • Serve warm as a side dish, over steak, chicken, pasta, or toasted bread.

🔥 Tips & Variations

  • Extra buttery: Add another tablespoon of butter at the end for richness.
  • Creamy version: Stir in ¼ cup heavy cream and simmer 2–3 minutes.
  • Spicy kick: Add red pepper flakes.
  • Balsamic twist: Drizzle with balsamic vinegar in the last minute of cooking.
  • Oven roasted: Toss mushrooms with oil and roast at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
