Posted on February 20, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a creamy, flavorful Garlic Mashed Potatoes recipe — smooth, buttery, and perfect alongside any main dish 🥔🧄

🥔 Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled
  • ½ cup milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes and garlic
Place potatoes and whole garlic cloves in a large pot. Cover with cold water and add a pinch of salt.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 15–20 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender.
  2. Drain and mash
Drain potatoes and garlic well. Return to pot or place in a large bowl. Mash using a potato masher or ricer.
  3. Add butter & milk
Stir in butter until melted. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth and creamy. Adjust the amount for desired consistency.
  4. Season & serve
Add salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Tips & Variations

  • Roast garlic before mashing for a sweeter, more mellow flavor.
  • For ultra-creamy potatoes, use a hand mixer or potato ricer.
  • Add cream cheese, sour cream, or Parmesan for extra richness.
  • Make ahead: Mash potatoes, cover, and refrigerate. Reheat with a splash of milk.

I can also give you a garlic herb roasted version that’s oven-baked and extra flavorful if you like.
