Fried Plantain (Dodo)
Ingredients
- Ripe plantains (yellow with black spots = best flavor)
- Vegetable or palm oil (for frying)
- Salt (optional)
Instructions
- Peel plantains
Cut off the ends, slit the skin lengthwise, peel. - Slice
- Diagonal slices = classic & pretty
- Thin slices = crispier
- Thick slices = softer inside
- Heat oil
Medium heat. Oil should be hot but not smoking. - Fry
Add plantains in batches (donβt overcrowd).
Fry 2β3 minutes per side until golden brown. - Drain & season
Remove and place on paper towels. Sprinkle a tiny bit of salt if you like.
