Creme Brulee

🍮🔥 Crème Brûlée (classic French dessert)

Crème brûlée is a rich, silky custard topped with a thin layer of crispy caramelized sugar you crack with a spoon.


🥣 Ingredients:

  • 🥛 Heavy cream (2 cups)
  • 🥚 Egg yolks (4–5)
  • 🍬 Sugar (½ cup + extra for topping)
  • 🌿 Vanilla extract or vanilla bean (1 tsp)

👩‍🍳 How to make:

1. Heat cream

  • Warm heavy cream with vanilla (don’t boil).

2. Mix eggs & sugar

  • Whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale and smooth.

3. Combine

  • Slowly pour warm cream into egg mixture while whisking.

4. Bake (water bath method)

  • Pour into ramekins.
  • Place in a baking dish and add hot water around them.
  • Bake at 160°C (320°F) for 30–40 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.

5. Chill

  • Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours.

6. Caramelize top 🔥

  • Sprinkle sugar on top.
  • Use a torch (or broiler) to melt and caramelize until golden and crisp.

🍽️ Result:

  • Silky smooth vanilla custard 🍮
  • Crisp caramel sugar top 🍬
  • Perfect contrast of creamy + crunchy 😋

⭐ Tips:

  • Don’t overbake (center should jiggle slightly)
  • Use a torch for best caramel top
  • Add a pinch of salt for deeper flavor
