Creamy Fried Bombs
Ingredients
Filling
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar
- 1 tbsp grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional add-ins: cooked bacon bits, jalapeños, spinach, or crab
Coating
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs or panko
For Frying
- Vegetable or canola oil (for deep frying)
Instructions
1. Make the Filling
- Mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, Parmesan, seasonings, and any add-ins.
- Chill mixture 20–30 minutes until firm enough to roll.
2. Form the Bombs
- Scoop about 1½ tablespoons of filling.
- Roll into balls and place on a tray.
- Freeze 15 minutes (helps prevent leaking).
3. Bread the Bombs
- Roll balls in flour.
- Dip in beaten eggs.
- Coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
- For extra crunch, repeat egg + breadcrumb step.
4. Fry
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry in small batches 2–3 minutes, turning until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
