Classic choice! Here’s a soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe that turns out perfect every time:

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients (makes ~20 cookies):

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter & sugars:
In a bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add wet ingredients:
Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Mix dry ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine:
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Shape cookies:
Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls and place on the baking tray, leaving space between them.
  7. Bake:
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  8. Cool:
Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.

💡 Tips for perfect cookies:

  • For extra chewiness, use more brown sugar than white
  • Slightly underbake for soft centers
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies

If you want, I can give you a bakery-style thick cookie recipe or a double chocolate version that’s extra rich 🍪
