🥦🍄 Broccoli & Mushroom Stir-Fry (Simple, Healthy, Flavorful)

This is a quick, savory veggie dish with tender-crisp broccoli and juicy mushrooms in a light garlic sauce—perfect as a side or over rice.


🧂 Ingredients (2–3 servings)

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups mushrooms (sliced; button or oyster work well)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but adds depth)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar (balances flavor)
  • 2–3 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for slight glaze)
  • Sesame seeds or sesame oil (optional garnish)

🍳 Instructions

1. Prep vegetables

Wash broccoli and slice mushrooms. Keep broccoli in small, even florets for quick cooking.


2. Blanch broccoli (optional but recommended)

  • Boil broccoli for 1–2 minutes
  • Drain and rinse with cold water

3. Sauté mushrooms

  • Heat oil in a pan or wok
  • Add mushrooms and cook 3–5 minutes until they release moisture and start browning

4. Add garlic

  • Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t burn it)

5. Add broccoli + sauce

Mix in:

  • soy sauce
  • oyster sauce (if using)
  • black pepper
  • sugar
  • water

Stir well and cook 2–3 minutes.


6. Thicken (optional)

Add cornstarch mixed with a little water for a light glossy sauce.


🍽️ Serve with

  • Steamed rice 🍚
  • Fried rice 🍳
  • Noodles 🍜
  • Or as a side with chicken or beef 🍗

🔥 Tips

  • Don’t overcook broccoli—it should stay slightly crunchy
  • Use high heat for better stir-fry flavor
  • Add chili flakes if you want heat 🌶️
