Beef cheese ball

Posted on February 23, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Beef Cheese Ball recipe—perfect as an appetizer or party snack:

Ingredients (makes 1 medium-sized cheese ball)

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 lb (225 g) cooked ground beef
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or chives
  • 1/2 cup crushed nuts (pecans or walnuts) or finely chopped crackers for coating

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef:
    • In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until soft.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Let it cool completely.
  2. Mix cheese and beef:
    • In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and the cooled cooked beef mixture.
    • Stir in parsley or chives.
  3. Shape the ball:
    • Use your hands to form the mixture into a ball.
  4. Coat the cheese ball:
    • Roll the ball in crushed nuts, crackers, or herbs until fully coated.
  5. Chill:
    • Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to let flavors meld.
  6. Serve:
    • Slice or serve with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables.

💡 Tips:

  • You can make mini cheese balls for individual servings.
  • Add a pinch of smoked paprika or chili flakes for a spicier version.
  • For a smoother texture, pulse the beef and cheese mixture in a food processor before shaping.

If you want, I can also give a no-cook version using ready-to-eat beef and cheese that’s faster for parties. Do you want that version?
