Fiery Cajun Shrimp Stuffed Jalapeños are a spicy appetizer where fresh jalapeños are filled with creamy Cajun-seasoned shrimp and baked until bubbly. They’re perfect for parties, BBQs, or as a bold starter.


Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the filling

  • 12 fresh jalapeños
  • 200 g shrimp (peeled, cooked, chopped)
  • 120 g cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise or sour cream
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Optional topping

  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 1 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

1. Prepare the jalapeños

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Slice jalapeños lengthwise and remove seeds (use gloves if sensitive to spice).

2. Make the shrimp filling

In a bowl mix:

  • chopped shrimp
  • cream cheese
  • cheddar cheese
  • Cajun seasoning
  • garlic
  • mayonnaise/sour cream
  • green onions
  • lemon juice

Stir until creamy and well combined.

3. Stuff the peppers

  • Spoon the shrimp mixture into each jalapeño half.
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter on top (optional).

4. Bake

  • Arrange on a baking tray.
  • Bake 15–18 minutes until peppers soften and cheese is bubbly.

5. Serve

Garnish with:

  • fresh parsley or cilantro
  • a squeeze of lemon
