Peach cobbler 🍑🥧 is a classic dessert made with sweet baked peaches topped with a soft biscuit-like or cake-style crust. It’s especially popular in the southern United States and is often served warm with vanilla ice cream.


Ingredients

For the filling

  • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned)
  • ½–¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (to thicken)

For the topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • Pinch of salt

How to Make Peach Cobbler

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the peaches:
    • Mix peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cornstarch in a bowl.
  3. Pour melted butter into a baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk to form a batter.
  5. Pour the batter over the butter in the dish.
  6. Add the peach mixture on top (don’t stir).
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top becomes golden brown.

How It’s Usually Served

  • Warm with Vanilla ice cream 🍨

  • Sometimes with caramel drizzle
