Chicken and noodles is a comforting dish made with tender chicken, egg noodles, and a rich broth. It’s simple, hearty, and very popular as a home-style meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 carrot (sliced, optional)
  • 1 celery stalk (optional)
  • Β½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Β½ teaspoon dried thyme or parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook vegetables
    • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
    • Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery.
    • Cook for about 3–4 minutes until soft.
  2. Add broth
    • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  3. Add noodles
    • Stir in the egg noodles and cook according to package directions (about 6–8 minutes).
  4. Add chicken
    • Mix in the cooked shredded chicken.
  5. Season
    • Add salt, pepper, and thyme/parsley.
  6. Simmer
    • Let everything cook together for 3–5 minutes so the flavors combine.

Serving 🍽️

Serve hot with:

  • Bread or dinner rolls
  • A simple salad
  • Cracked black pepper on top
