Chicken soup is a classic comfort food made with chicken, vegetables, and flavorful broth. It’s nourishing, versatile, and perfect for a cold day or when you need something soothing.


Ingredients

  • 1–2 lbs chicken (breasts, thighs, or a whole chicken)
  • 8 cups chicken broth or water
  • 2–3 carrots, sliced
  • 2–3 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1–2 cups egg noodles or rice (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken
    In a large pot, combine chicken and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20–30 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken, shred or chop, and set aside.
  2. Cook the vegetables
    Add carrots, celery, onion, and garlic to the broth. Simmer 10–15 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  3. Add chicken and noodles
    Return shredded chicken to the pot. If using, add noodles or rice and cook until tender (about 8–10 minutes for noodles).
  4. Season and serve
    Taste and adjust with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill.
