Chicken Marsala 🍗🍄
Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian-American dish featuring pan-seared chicken breasts in a savory Marsala wine and mushroom sauce. It’s elegant yet easy to make at home.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, thinly pounded
- ½ cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- ¾ cup Marsala wine
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp butter (optional, for finishing)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the chicken
Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge lightly in flour, shaking off excess. - Cook chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside. - Cook mushrooms
In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms (and garlic if using) until soft and lightly browned. - Make the sauce
Add Marsala wine and chicken broth, scraping up browned bits from the pan. Simmer 5–7 minutes until slightly reduced. - Finish the dish
Return chicken to the pan. Spoon sauce over the top. Stir in butter for extra richness if desired. - Garnish and serve
Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve hot.
Serving Ideas 🍽️
