🥔🧅 Sautéed Potatoes and Onions

A simple, classic side dish—crispy potatoes with caramelized onions. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. 🍽️


🧾 Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled or scrubbed, diced or thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika or smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep potatoes

  • If you want crispier potatoes, parboil diced potatoes in salted water for 5 minutes, then drain.

2️⃣ Cook onions

  • Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add sliced onions and sauté 5–7 minutes until soft and lightly golden.

3️⃣ Cook potatoes

  • Add potatoes to the skillet with onions.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, 15–20 minutes, until potatoes are golden and tender.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Garnish with fresh parsley.
  • Serve hot as a side with eggs, meat, or roasted vegetables.

🍽️ Tips & Variations

  • Add garlic in the last 2 minutes for extra flavor. 🧄
  • Mix in bell peppers or mushrooms for a heartier skillet.
  • Sprinkle cheese on top for a cheesy variation. 🧀
