Pan-fried halloumi

Posted on March 10, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious way to make Pan-Fried Halloumi — golden, crispy on the outside, soft and salty on the inside 🧀🔥.

Ingredients (serves 2–3)

  • 250 g halloumi cheese, sliced into 1 cm thick pieces
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: lemon wedges, fresh herbs (mint, parsley)

Instructions

1. Prepare the halloumi

  • Slice the halloumi into 1 cm thick pieces.
  • Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture (helps it crisp better).

2. Heat the pan

  • Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add olive oil.

3. Fry the halloumi

  • Add slices to the pan in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
  • Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Avoid flipping too early — it should release easily from the pan.

4. Serve

  • Serve immediately while warm.
  • Optional: squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
  • Garnish with mint, parsley, or chili flakes for extra flavor.

💡 Tips

  • Halloumi is naturally salty; no extra salt is usually needed.
  • Serve as a snack, appetizer, or in salads and wraps.
  • Can be paired with tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives for a Mediterranean-style salad.

I can also give you a quick honey-drizzled pan-fried halloumi version that’s sweet and savory.

Do you want me to share that version?
