Fried rice

Here’s a quick and delicious fried rice recipe 🍚🥢

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked rice (preferably cold, day-old rice)
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or sesame oil)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, beans)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: cooked chicken, shrimp, or beef

Instructions

1. Cook the eggs

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan or wok.
  • Scramble the eggs and remove them from the pan.

2. Cook vegetables

  • Add another 1 tbsp oil to the pan.
  • Sauté garlic for about 30 seconds.
  • Add mixed vegetables and cook 2–3 minutes.

3. Add rice

  • Add the cooked rice and stir well, breaking up any clumps.

4. Season

  • Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper, and salt.
  • Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes.

5. Combine

  • Add scrambled eggs back into the rice.
  • Mix in chopped green onions.

6. Serve

Serve hot with:

  • chili sauce 🌶️
  • fried chicken 🍗
  • or grilled shrimp 🍤

💡 Tips

  • Cold rice works best because it stays separate and not sticky.
  • A hot wok helps give fried rice a restaurant-style smoky flavor.
