Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescent Braid

Posted on March 9, 2026 by Admin

Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescent Braid is a baked dish made with crescent roll dough braided around chicken, ham, and cheese, inspired by the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu. It’s crispy on the outside and creamy and savory inside. 🥐🍗🧀

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 6–8 slices ham
  • 1 cup Swiss or mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 can crescent roll dough
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Prepare filling

  • In a bowl mix:
    • shredded chicken
    • cream cheese
    • garlic powder
    • black pepper
    • half of the shredded cheese.

2. Prepare the dough

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Unroll crescent dough on a baking sheet and press seams together to make one rectangle.
  • Cut 1-inch strips along both long sides (leave the center solid for filling).

3. Add filling

  • Place the chicken mixture down the center.
  • Layer ham slices and remaining cheese on top.

4. Braid the dough

  • Fold the strips from each side over the filling in a braid pattern.

5. Bake

  • Brush the top with beaten egg.
  • Bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

6. Serve

  • Let it cool slightly, slice, and serve.

✅ Tip: Serve with a quick honey mustard or creamy Dijon sauce for extra flavor.

If you want, I can also give:

  • An easy 5-ingredient version
  • A step-by-step visual braid method
  • Restaurant-style creamy cordon bleu sauce.
