Here’s a classic Steak with Mushroom Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans meal—rich, savory, and perfect for a hearty dinner. 🥩🍄🥔🥬

Ingredients

For the Steak

  • 2 ribeye, sirloin, or strip steaks (8 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

For the Mushroom Sauce

  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Mashed Potatoes

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • ¼ cup milk (or more as needed)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Green Beans

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare mashed potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15–20 minutes.
  2. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.

2. Cook the steak

  1. Season steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook steaks 3–5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for thickness).
  4. Remove from pan and let rest 5 minutes.

3. Make mushroom sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, simmer 2–3 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream and cook until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Cook green beans

  1. Boil, steam, or sauté green beans in butter or olive oil with garlic for 5–7 minutes until tender but crisp.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.

5. Serve

  • Plate the steak with mushroom sauce on top, mashed potatoes on the side, and green beans.
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley or thyme.

💡 Tips

  • Let steak rest before slicing to keep it juicy.
  • For richer flavor, deglaze the skillet with a splash of wine before adding broth for the mushroom sauce.
  • Add parmesan to mashed potatoes for extra creaminess. 🧀

If you want, I can also give a one-skillet version where you cook steak, mushroom sauce, and green beans in one pan for minimal cleanup and maximum flavor.

Do you want me to do that?
