🍗 Chicken Thighs in Creamy Sauce
Tender chicken thighs cooked in a rich, flavorful cream sauce — perfect over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 4–6 bone-in or boneless chicken thighs
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (or 1 tbsp fresh)
- Optional: mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Season & sear chicken
- Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook aromatics
- In the same skillet, sauté onion until translucent.
- Add garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
3️⃣ Make creamy sauce
- Stir in chicken broth and cream.
- Add Parmesan cheese and thyme/rosemary.
- Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
4️⃣ Return chicken
- Add chicken thighs back to the skillet.
- Cover and simmer 15–20 minutes, or until chicken is fully cooked (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).
5️⃣ Optional extras
- Add mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
6️⃣ Serve
- Spoon sauce over chicken and serve with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
🌿 Tips & Variations
- For extra richness, stir in 1–2 tbsp cream cheese or a splash of white wine.
- Use boneless thighs for quicker cooking.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or basil for color.
- Slow cooker version: sear chicken, then add all ingredients and cook LOW 4–5 hours.
