🥔 Potato Sticks (Crispy & Homemade)

Thin, crunchy potato sticks — perfect as a snack, side dish, or topping for soups and salads.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 3–4 medium potatoes
  • 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional seasonings: paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, or cayenne

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep potatoes

  • Peel (optional) and cut potatoes into thin sticks, about ¼ inch wide.
  • Soak in cold water 30 minutes to remove excess starch — this makes them crispier.
  • Drain and pat completely dry.

2️⃣ Toss with oil & seasonings

  • In a bowl, mix potato sticks with oil, salt, and any desired seasonings.

3️⃣ Bake (healthier option)

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Spread sticks in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

4️⃣ Or Fry (traditional)

  • Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry potato sticks in batches 3–4 minutes until golden.
  • Drain on paper towels and season immediately.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Enjoy as a snack, side dish, or sprinkled over soups and salads.

🌿 Tips & Variations

  • For extra crunch, sprinkle a little cornstarch on potato sticks before baking.
  • Use sweet potatoes for a colorful variation.
  • Season with parmesan and herbs for a cheesy twist.
  • Keep baked sticks in a single layer until cooled to stay crispy.

I can also provide:

  • Spicy Cajun potato sticks
  • Oven-baked “fries” style potato sticks
  • Garlic Parmesan potato sticks
