🥔 Potato Sticks (Crispy & Homemade)
Thin, crunchy potato sticks — perfect as a snack, side dish, or topping for soups and salads.
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2–4)
- 3–4 medium potatoes
- 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Optional seasonings: paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, or cayenne
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep potatoes
- Peel (optional) and cut potatoes into thin sticks, about ¼ inch wide.
- Soak in cold water 30 minutes to remove excess starch — this makes them crispier.
- Drain and pat completely dry.
2️⃣ Toss with oil & seasonings
- In a bowl, mix potato sticks with oil, salt, and any desired seasonings.
3️⃣ Bake (healthier option)
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Spread sticks in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
4️⃣ Or Fry (traditional)
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry potato sticks in batches 3–4 minutes until golden.
- Drain on paper towels and season immediately.
5️⃣ Serve
