🍕 Homemade Pizza
Make fresh, crispy, and customizable pizza right in your own kitchen — from dough to toppings.
🛒 Ingredients (Makes 1 large 12–14” pizza)
For the dough:
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)
For the sauce:
- 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp olive oil
Toppings:
- 1–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Pepperoni, sausage, vegetables, olives, or any preferred toppings
- Fresh basil or arugula (optional, added after baking)
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the dough
- In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise 1–2 hours, until doubled in size.
2️⃣ Prepare the sauce
- Mix crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, salt, sugar, and olive oil. Set aside.
3️⃣ Preheat oven
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
4️⃣ Shape the dough
- Punch down risen dough and roll or stretch into a 12–14” circle on parchment or a floured surface.
5️⃣ Assemble pizza
- Spread sauce evenly over dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Sprinkle cheese and arrange toppings.
6️⃣ Bake
- Bake 12–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
7️⃣ Serve
- Slice and enjoy! Add fresh herbs or a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
