🥔 Baked Potato (Crispy Skin & Fluffy Inside)

Simple, classic, and perfect as a side or loaded main dish.


🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt (coarse works best)
  • Black pepper (optional)

Optional toppings:

  • Butter
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Bacon bits
  • Green onions
  • Chili or steamed broccoli

🔥 Oven Method (Best Texture)

1️⃣ Preheat oven

  • 425°F (220°C).

2️⃣ Prep potatoes

  • Scrub clean and dry thoroughly.
  • Pierce each potato 4–5 times with a fork.
  • Rub with olive oil and sprinkle generously with salt.

3️⃣ Bake

  • Place directly on oven rack (or on a baking sheet).
  • Bake 45–60 minutes until skin is crisp and a fork slides in easily.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.

⚡ Quick Microwave Method

  1. Pierce potatoes.
  2. Microwave 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway.
  3. For crispy skin, finish in a 425°F oven for 10–15 minutes.

  • Russet potatoes give the fluffiest texture.
  • For extra crispy skin, bake without foil.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder or smoked paprika before baking for added flavor.
