🥗 Taco Salad

A fresh, crunchy, and flavorful salad loaded with seasoned ground beef, crisp vegetables, cheese, and a zesty dressing — perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.


🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or homemade: 1 tsp chili powder, ½ tsp cumin, ½ tsp paprika, ½ tsp garlic powder, salt & pepper
  • 4 cups chopped lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • ½ cup diced red onion (optional)
  • ½ cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips or strips
  • ½ cup salsa or taco dressing
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños, fresh cilantro

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Add taco seasoning and ¼ cup water; simmer 2–3 minutes until well coated.

2️⃣ Assemble salad

  • In a large bowl, layer lettuce, cherry tomatoes, onion, olives, cheese, and crushed tortilla chips.

3️⃣ Add beef

  • Top salad with seasoned ground beef.

4️⃣ Dress & serve

  • Drizzle with salsa or dressing.
  • Add optional toppings like sour cream, guacamole, or cilantro.
  • Toss gently before serving.

🌿 Tips & Variations

  • Swap ground beef for ground chicken, turkey, or plant-based crumbles.
  • Use romaine hearts for extra crunch.
  • Add corn, black beans, or avocado for more texture and flavor.
  • For a low-carb version, skip the tortilla chips.
