🍖 Classic Meatloaf
A hearty, comforting dish made with seasoned ground meat, baked to perfection and topped with a savory glaze.
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
- 1½ lbs (680 g) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- Glaze: ½ cup ketchup, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp mustard
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking dish or loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease.
2️⃣ Mix meatloaf
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Mix gently until combined (don’t overmix — it keeps the loaf tender).
3️⃣ Shape & glaze
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in the pan.
- Mix glaze ingredients and spread evenly over the top.
4️⃣ Bake
- Bake 55–65 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
5️⃣ Rest & serve
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or gravy.

- Add finely chopped bell peppers, carrots, or mushrooms for extra moisture and flavor.
- Substitute ketchup glaze with barbecue sauce for a smoky flavor.
