🥩 Shredded Beef (Tender & Flavorful)

Perfect for tacos, sandwiches, enchiladas, or hearty bowls — shredded beef is slow-cooked until fork-tender and full of flavor.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2–3 lbs (900–1,400 g) beef chuck roast or brisket
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder or oregano (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, or soy sauce for extra depth

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Slow Cooker Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef on all sides until browned (optional, but adds flavor).
  2. Transfer beef to slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, broth, and seasonings.
  3. Cook LOW 8 hours or HIGH 4–5 hours until beef is tender and falls apart.
  4. Remove beef and shred with two forks. Mix back into juices for extra flavor.

2️⃣ Oven Braise Method

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Brown beef in a heavy oven-safe pot with oil.
  3. Add onion, garlic, broth, and seasonings. Cover.
  4. Bake 3–4 hours until beef is tender. Shred with forks.

  • Use leftover shredded beef for tacos, burritos, sandwiches, or salads.
  • Add chipotle peppers in adobo sauce for a smoky, spicy flavor.
