πŸ“ Homemade Strawberry Jam (Easy & Delicious)

Sweet, bright, and perfect on toast, biscuits, or stirred into yogurt.

πŸ›’ Ingredients (Makes ~3 cups)

  • 2 lbs fresh strawberries (about 4 cups chopped)
  • 1½–2 cups sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

πŸ”₯ Instructions

1️⃣ Prep strawberries

  • Wash, hull, and chop strawberries.
  • Lightly mash with a potato masher (leave some chunks if you like texture).

2️⃣ Cook

  • In a large saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring often.

3️⃣ Simmer

  • Reduce heat and simmer 20–30 minutes.
  • Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
  • Jam is ready when it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

Quick test:
Place a small spoonful on a cold plate. If it wrinkles when pushed, it’s done.

4️⃣ Cool & store

  • Let cool slightly.
  • Transfer to clean jars.
  • Refrigerate up to 3 weeks.

🌟 Tips

  • For smoother jam, blend briefly before cooking.
  • For chunkier jam, mash less.
  • If you prefer thicker jam, cook longer or add pectin.
  • A tiny pinch of salt enhances flavor.

If you’d like, I can give you:

  • A no-sugar strawberry jam
  • A freezer jam version
  • Or a strawberry vanilla bean jam
