🍑 Classic Peach Cobbler

A warm, sweet, and comforting dessert with juicy peaches and a golden, biscuit-like topping — perfect for summer or cozy evenings.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

Filling:

  • 4 cups fresh or canned peaches, sliced (drain if canned)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust based on sweetness of peaches)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (to thicken)
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup (½ stick) butter, melted
  • Optional: cinnamon sugar for sprinkling

🥣 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish lightly with butter.

2️⃣ Prepare Peach Filling

  • In a bowl, combine peaches, sugar, flour, lemon juice, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  • Pour filling into the prepared baking dish.

3️⃣ Make the Topping

  • In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in milk and melted butter until smooth.

4️⃣ Assemble Cobbler

  • Spoon the batter over the peaches; it doesn’t need to completely cover them — the topping will spread as it bakes.
  • Optional: sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top for extra flavor.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 35–40 minutes, until topping is golden brown and peaches are bubbly.

6️⃣ Serve

  • Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

🔥 Tips & Variations

  • Juicier Filling: Add a tablespoon of peach jam or a splash of orange juice.
  • Extra Flavor: Mix in a pinch of nutmeg or ginger with the peaches.
  • Biscuit Topping: Use self-rising flour and slightly thicker dollops for a more cake-like topping.
  • Make-Ahead: Assemble and refrigerate up to 4 hours before baking.
