Oh yes 😌 slow cooker beer bread—super easy, crusty, slightly sweet, and perfect with soups or just butter.


🍺 Slow Cooker Beer Bread

Ingredients (1 loaf)

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2–3 tbsp sugar (optional, adds slight sweetness)
  • 12 oz beer (1 can or bottle, any kind you like)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing top)

Instructions

  1. Prep slow cooker
    Spray the inside with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add beer
    Pour in beer and stir until just combined. Batter will be thick and sticky—don’t overmix.
  4. Cook
    • Pour batter into the slow cooker.
    • Cover with lid slightly ajar (tuck a kitchen towel under lid to absorb condensation).
    • Cook on high for 2–2½ hours or low for 3–3½ hours, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Finish
    Brush melted butter on top while still warm for a glossy crust.
  6. Cool slightly & serve
    Let cool 10–15 min before slicing.

Pro Tips

  • Any beer works—dark beers give richer flavor, light beers give milder flavor.
  • Optional add-ins: shredded cheddar, chopped herbs, garlic powder, or seeds on top.
  • If you like a crustier top, remove lid for last 15–20 min.
