🌮🥗 Taco Salad (Easy Homemade)

🧾 Ingredients

  • ground beef – 300–400 g
  • onion – 1 small, chopped
  • Lettuce – 2–3 cups, shredded
  • Tomato – 1–2, diced
  • Cheddar cheese – 1 cup, shredded
  • Tortilla chips – 1–2 cups, crushed

🌶️ Seasoning

  • Taco seasoning – 1–2 tbsp (or chili powder + cumin mix)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp

🥣 Dressing (choose one)

  • Sour cream or yogurt – ½ cup
  • Mayonnaise – 2–3 tbsp (optional)
  • Lime juice – 1–2 tsp
  • Hot sauce – optional

👨‍🍳 Steps

1. Cook beef

  • Heat oil in pan
  • Sauté onions until soft
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned
  • Mix in taco seasoning + a splash of water
  • Cook until flavorful and slightly saucy

2. Prep salad base

  • In a large bowl add: lettuce, tomatoes, cheese

3. Assemble

  • Add warm beef on top
  • Drizzle dressing over everything
  • Toss gently

4. Add crunch (important!)

  • Top with crushed tortilla chips just before serving
