Shrimp

Shrimp is super versatile and cooks quickly. Here’s a simple and flavorful shrimp recipe that works as a main dish, pasta topping, or appetizer.

Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili powder (optional for a kick)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the shrimp
    • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika or chili powder if using.
  2. Cook the shrimp
    • Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add shrimp in a single layer. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  3. Finish with lemon
    • Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and toss gently.
  4. Serve
    • Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve over rice, pasta, salad, or with bread.

Tips

  • Shrimp cooks very fast—overcooking makes it rubbery.
  • For more flavor, marinate shrimp 15–30 minutes in olive oil, garlic, and herbs before cooking.
  • You can add vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, or spinach for a one-pan meal.

If you want, I can give a super-easy 5-minute garlic butter shrimp recipe that’s rich, flavorful, and ready in under 10 minutes.
